Registered in August 2006, the founding trustees transferred the Charity to the Town Council in June 2020 in order to protect the charity in perpetuity. The Charity was formed for the provision of recreational and sporting facilities for the community.
KLASSIC is an acronym for 'Kirton in Lindsey Actively Supporting Sport in the Community'.
This Committee meets monthly.
The Charity Committee is set up by KLTC as sole trustee to delegate the day to day management of the Charity.
All members of the Council are trustee members and are able to be appointed to the committee via nomination at KLTC Full Council.
The Chair of the Committee is appointed via nomination by KLTC Full Council.
Regular user groups are invited to become non-voting members.
Remit
Governance and Compliance:
Ensuring the charity operates strictly within its governing document and fulfils all statutory duties, including preparation and submitting annual reports, accounting records and financial statements to the Charity Commission. Ensuring that the Charity Commission are promptly informed of any changes to registered particulars.
Asset Management:
Safeguarding and managing charitable assets (land, buildings, and funds).
Conflict Management:
Mitigating conflicts of interest by ensuring decisions are made exclusively for the charity's benefit, including using separate financial records and bank accounts from that of Kirton in Lindsey Town Council. Members must remain aware that conflicts of interest can be both financial and personal.
Delegation and Administration:
Overseeing and delegating routine, day-to-day management responsibilities to staff or advisory sub-committees.
To agree methods for making decisions by delegation in order to deal with cases of urgency when a meeting is impractical.
Employ and remunerate staff as are necessary for carrying out the work of the Charity.
Duties
The Committee operates under, and is to fulfil the obligations of the Trust Deed.
The Committee shall prepare budgets and will organise and use the budget provided for the operation of the facility.
Facilitate working in partnership and forming and identifying links with other charities, schools, voluntary organisations, tourism organisations and other relevant bodies.
To source and apply for appropriate funding available.
To develop and agree promotion of events and other fund-raising activities.
At set intervals, agree rates of hire and regular user group fees including annual fees.
Work for the benefit and best interests of KLASSIC Park Charity its future.
