The Finance and Planning Committee (previously known as the General Purposes Committee) convenes on the second Monday of the month, when required. Meetings of this Committee are open to the public and allow public comment at the start of the meeting.
The Remit of the Finance and Planning ("F&P") Committee:
To receive reports on the financial position of the Council, including a quarterly bank reconciliation (though these will also still be received by Full Council).
To authorise payment of invoices required to be paid outside of the Full Council meeting schedule.
To receive and reply to matters of correspondence which are too urgent to wait until the next Full Council Meeting.
Delegated authority for the consideration of comments in response to planning applications when the timing of the consultation period falls outside the schedule of Full Council Meetings.
To recieve draft recommendations and reports for annual budget and precept planning and participate in the development of the annual budget and precept giving recommendations to Full Council.
To report back to Full Council.
